The Waldoboro Inn is a Federal-style mansion built in 1820 and later renovated in the Italianate style in 1880 by Captain John B. Stahl. After his death, his son Clint and Clint’s wife Ida transformed the single-family home into a tavern and boarding house. In 1960, the Wooster family purchased the property and converted it back into a single-family home. The current owners reopened the property as The Waldoboro Inn in 2022.

The owners are undertaking a multi-phase renovation, beginning with the restoration of the original 1820s home and the carriage house. In celebrating the over 200 years of history, we have carefully restored and highlighted elements from every era of the house's past. We’ve embraced a playful approach to decor, blending period lighting and key historical furniture with bespoke elements to create a joyful and inviting experience.
